I took a little break from social media over the holidays and feel so refreshed! Sometimes it’s nice to slow down and unplug for a while and focus on friends and family.
I enjoyed this break, but I’m also excited to be back at it and have plans to shoot some new content this week! I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. For my first post back of the new year, I thought I would share some pics from my trip to NYC in December!
I have been to NYC before, but it has always been on my bucket list to go around the holidays and experience all of the festive decorations! So without further ado, watch me unleash my inner Macaulay Culkin at some of the key Christmas tourist destinations in NYC!
The Flatiron Building (okay not festive, but still a tourist must see):
5th Avenue window displays (Equally as exciting during the day and at night)! These are a must if your in the city during the holiday season.
My personal favourite exterior display was definitely Saks 5th ave- they have a light show that plays every 15 minutes after dark and it was spectacular! As far as actual shopping experience, I definitely recommend walking through Macy’s, it was seriously like a winter wonderland in that store!
Continuing on the shopping theme, I highly recommend checking out FAO Schwartz – Back in 2011 during my first trip to NYC, I went to the original store on 5th ave and it was the most enchanting toy store Ive ever been in. They sadly closed this store years ago, and only recently re-opened at Rockefeller centre, so when I heard that I knew we needed to go. It will not disappoint, and brings back those magical childhood christmas feelings!
Rockefeller Tree & Ice rink, this one probably goes without saying – you must see the famous tree if you are ever in the city in December:
(above is view from FAO Schwartz)
Central Park – We did Ice skating in central park and it was soo much fun. Skating here is cheaper and much less of a wait than at Rockefeller + its bigger and equally as festive in my opinion (highly recommend!):
Radio City Music Hall – definitely splurge and get tickets to see the Rockettes! This show was spectacular and filled with festive tunes!:
NYC Public Library:
Washington Square Park:
The Plaza Hotel (New York’s most exciting hotel experience):
The Highline – Not going to lie, this attraction would be more visually appealing in the spring/summer.. buuut, if your looking for a less touristy thing to do that still provides a unique view of the city, the Highline is a great option:
Law Courts & Dept of Justice:
Are their any other cool attractions I missed? Let me know below!
